Looking for work (update)

In my job search and numerous interviews lately, I’ve been forced to really think about what exactly it is that I should spend my days doing.

During my time at Hyper Island (my recent Digital Media education), I found that my previous experiences in leadership and project planning really came in handy during the group projects I managed.
A lot of my previous experiences came in handy actually; everything from running my own clubnights in Stockholm in the early 90′s, which included everything from coordinating, booking venues and talent to designing all advertisements and planning and setting a strategy for marketing and working as a graphic designer for a concert venue in New York to managing a store that sells rims and tires to designing a whole corporate identity, including developing internal systems to interior design, for a new new franchise of lunch restaurants. (yeah, a bit of a mixed bag, I know..)

But what keeps coming back and biting me in the ass (so to speak) is my creativity and ability to find insights from a client perspective.
This is something I used very much in my role as a project manager, but I know I would have a lot more to offer if I was able to focus on my strengths in creative idea development.

The agencies that have shown interest so far seem very interested in my abilities as a project manager for my ability to structure and manage, but so far I haven’t found any agencies that is willing to use my strength as a creative as well, so I will continue my search for a little while longer.

In the end, I think it’s equally important that I feel comfortable in my new role so that I can do my best work for the agency, but also for the client. (of course)
